Description: This viewpoint was, as its name suggests, constructed to commemorate the Millennium, and by its construction an extra tourist attraction was added to enable visitors and locals alike to enjoy the views over the town of Kelso. From an initial suggestion by two members of the Kelso Laddies Association, Tom Weatherston and Gordon Little, the idea was brought, through Denys Mitchells design, to fruition by generous donations from locals, and support from various public bodies. It was opened by Provost Margaret Riddell on June 21st 2000.

How to get there: By car: Drive over Kelso Bridge, and up the hill. The viewpoint is just before the top of the hill up to Maxwellheugh. There are two parking spaces marked. By public transport: Buses to Jedburgh, Morebattle and Yetholm all pass by. As it is only a short walk from the town, through or round Bridgend Park, why not go on foot?
